This website documents the complete range of Doctor Who merchandise released since the show started in 1963 to the present day. That's over 11,000 items.
It covers an amazing array of categories and types of items. Included are toys, books, magazines, comic books, CDs, videos, DVDs, and even clothing and toiletries.
The site is based on the book Howe's Transcendental Toybox by David Howe and Arnold T Blumberg that is available to buy from Telos Publishing. Visit www.telos.co.uk for details of how to obtain the book and it's update volumes.
Although this site carries some advertising, this to cover the cost of producing and hosting it. The site is not for profit. If you find an error or an omission, please use the 'add item', 'edit item' or 'contact us' links to submit details. It's only through the help of the Toybox's community of users that we can keep it up-to-date and we'll give you a credit if you want one.

Criteria
This website lists over 8,000 items and counting, but sadly we can't list everything. We've applied the following criteria to try and manage the scope of the content -
- The item was released for commercial distribution
- The item is a Doctor Who, Sarah Jane Adventures or Torchwood item in its own right (an exception is made for comics and magazines containing Doctor Who comic strips)
- Only Doctor Who specific magazines and comics are listed (an exception is made for Radio Times if it has a Doctor Who cover)
- Digital downloads are not listed unless this is the only form in which the product was released.
- Custom made or bespoke items are not listed
- We don't list artist photographs and other sundries
- Fanzines are not listed
- Collectibles such as scripts, props, autographs, etc are not listed
- Pornographic material (yes there is some) is not listed
Valuations
When we can, we provide valuations for items. It is worth noting that while these valuations are based on the best information available, they are inevitably out-of-date from the moment they are set. They are purely approximate and we do not recommend they be used for serious financial investment.
Prices
Prices are, whenever possible, the manufacturers RRP (Recommended Retail Price). Manufacturers can vary their prices at any time as can retailers. We cannot guarentee that you will not find an item for sale for less or more money than the price given on this site.
