This title was originally to have been published by Fantom Films.

Paperback edition. Due to a change of printers, a subsequent reprint of the title was noticably thinner than the original (same number of pages, just thinner stock and a thinner spine as a result).

Product description -
J.N.T. - The Life and Scandalous Times of John Nathan-Turner tells the story of the most controversial figure in the history of Doctor Who.

For more than a decade, John Nathan-Turner, or 'JNT' as he was often known, was in charge of every major artistic and practical decision affecting the programme. He cast three doctors, seven companions and brought back the Master, among many classic villains and monsters, and masterminded the 20th anniversary celebrations in 1983. He displayed a particular flair for generating worldwide publicity but his relationship with fandom was bittersweet and often stormy. His high profile success and future promise came to an abrupt end with the sudden and shocking cancellation of the programme in 1985. Although the cancellation was commuted to a postponement, John Nathan-Turner - and Doctor Who - had fallen out of favour. In 1986, script editor Eric Saward quit the show, giving his reasons in an incendiary magazine interview. Nathan-Turner left the BBC in 1990, shortly after the programme was dropped, apparently for good. He never worked in mainstream television again. A heavy drinker and smoker, he died at the tragically early age of 54.

Richard Marson brings his dramatic, farcical, sometimes scandalous, often moving story to life with the benefit of his own inside knowledge and the fruits of over 80 revealing interviews with key friends and colleagues, from stars to secretaries, his childhood best friend to his personnel officer, those he loved and those from whom he became estranged. Richard has also had access to all of Nathan-Turner's surviving archive of paperwork and photos (many of which appear here for the very first time), as well as BBC archival material and video and audio archive from a range of private sources.
