1992 UK

A rare example of faked Doctor Who merchandise. These egg cups were available singly from market-stall dealers in London’s Covent Garden Market in 1992. They appear to be 1965 William Hartnell egg cups, with images of the Doctor and a Dalek on them. They are also yellowed and dirty inside. There is a badly printed stamp on the bottom reading ‘© BBC 1965’. There was no such item produced, and these are modern fakes, made to look like an authentic product. The stall holders were charging around £50 each for these items.
