Doctorin' The TARDIS by The Timelords KLF Communications
05/1988 KLF Communications UK
7" and 12" singles. Written by Chinn and Chapman. 7" single has 'probably the most nauseating record in the world' written on it. A mixture of Gary Glitter's Rock and Roll Part II, The Sweet's Blockbuster, the Doctor Who theme and samples from Genesis of the Daleks. Single got to number 1 week on the Radio One chart for one week from 12 June 1988. Two versions of the 12" single exist, one with a word bubble around the words at the bottom of the sleeve, and one without the balloon. B - side Minimal, a slower instrumental version of the Doctor Who theme.
The Timelords had further hit singles in the 1990s as The KLF (What Time Is Love?, 3AM Eternal, Last Train to Transcentral, America: What Time Is Love?, Justified and Ancient, Fuck the Millennnium) and one as The Justified Ancients of Mu Mu (It's Grim Up North).
